Karim Rashid is an Egyptian-Canadian industrial designer, born in Cairo in 1960, raised in Canada, and based in New York since 1993. He is one of the most prolific designers of his generation, with over 4,000 designs in production, from the Garbo waste can for Umbra and the bobble water bottle to furniture, lighting, and hotel interiors. His work is in the permanent collections of MoMA, Centre Pompidou, and SFMOMA.
